Well kids, 2 things – I hate my new neighbors, and I probably won’t have any internet until Monday, at the earliest. The new neighbors had cable installed today (internet, tv, and phone), so, of course, ComCast jacked my shit up. They literally butched the Cat-V cable running from the Qwest box to my house (but they so nicely taped it back together again!)

Another thing, is either the guy living over there, or his son, are turning up the stereo during the day. That’s annoying, innit? So, try as I may to ignore it, that, combined with the lack of internet made me crazy, and I had to leave for a while.

I want a house now.

So what’s Wudan been up to? Well, I have been cooking up a lot of projects, and I’ve been working hard.

My goals at this point consist of just a few things: finish up some projects, get some certifications. My college sent me a nice letter and an evaluation to show me how close I am to getting my Bachelors in Business.

To tell the truth, I intend on wrapping up my Associates and walking away from Business curriculum. It’s boring, and, at this point, all that’s left for my Bachelors is 60 credit hours of ELECTIVES.

Tell me, if all that’s standing between an Associates and a Bachelors, at my fine institution, is 60 hours of ELECTIVES … oh, toss it, I’m sure you see the stupidity.

I found GLFW the other day and saw that it was, essentially, the exact sort of thing I was trying to write, only it’s already done and free to use. So, what the heck, I grabbed it up and got to work. I’m telling you, it’s beautiful when you take something out of the box and it works, first time out.

Well, maybe not first time out, but it was painless.

Oh, and I went and downloaded some Pulp Techno off the iTunes, too. I did that because … well, I don’t know.

I define Pulp Techno as Electronic music that has obtained some mainstream popularity or commercial success. So, the stuff I got you could hear on car commercials and those intel commecials.

Ok, so Dax hooked me up with a shiteload of iTunes downloads. With them I set out to find good electronic music to make a good CD with. During my perusings I came upon O Fortuna, which you probably won’t recognize as a strong choral peice (in Latin) which has a very chilling sound to it (as most Latin songs do.) I was curious to find the meaning of the song, since it sounds like it’s from an Opera, although not an aria, per se.

Anyway, the song strikes a chord with me because it is about misfortune – and fortune in general. Often, this is what happens when a truly gifted artist sets out to portray something through music – they create something really, really, REALLY good. If you’ve heard any of Monteverdi’s Vespers, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I’m not even that Christian (and definitely not Catholic), but it is, to me, very striking music.

Anyway, ’nuff about that.

Work has been rough tonight :) That’s putting it mildly. I hope you’re all having a good time.

I give you David Duchovny’s blog. Oh sure, he may not have the absolut geeky charm of Zack Braff, but do I need to remind you that David Duchovny is not just steeped in geek culture, he is one of the Gods of the Geek Pantheon.

Well, nuff about that. Work, though I rarely mention it, has been going well. I’ve been learning tons.

The bad part about work is that I go for days at a time without seeing my wife :(

Jabba’s been sick, but he’s on the mend. Yesterday he woke up furiously hungry, which is a good sign. Today he’s good enough to run some errands with me.

So last night I almost lapsed and bought that Willie Nelson song off of iTunes … today I probably will. Or maybe I’ll track down some Amon Tobin :)
