Ok kids, today was a hum-dinger.

I got another free download on iTunes today, and so I used my two remaining iTunes downloads on Amon Tobin’s El Cargo (from the Splinter Cell 3 soundtrack), and Nine Inch Nails The Hand That Feeds. Both are from albums that I am intent on owning ASAP anyway :) I also bought the Bad Cartridge Remix of Beck’s E-Pro, by Paza of The X-Dump. It’s a catchy tune and I was feeling saucy so I bought it.

What can I say, I’ve almost got enough good stock to make a nice little CD for myself. Well, that and I obtained some Minibosses from this thing called the Internets.

Stuff is funnier when it’s plural – I guess my Mormon ancestors were on to something!

Hate-mongering aside, today was a rough day. As Jabba put it, ‘I don’t think it’s spring.’ So, like, my mom needed a jump at 11am, shortly before I need to get Jabba to school. I was in the middle of making a before-school snack (the boy just ate and ate today!) and my mom called and said she needed a jump. I had only a vague idea of where my cables were so I called up theorb77 and got his voicemail. Well, I wasn’t about to let my mom get stuck out there, other people have always helped me out when I’m stuck in a jam, so I mobilized the fleet, found my damn jumper cables and scooted my ass to the ’sphault with Jabba en tow!

I arrived on the scene to find a cold and worried Canoe (my mommy), and hooked up those cables and got to it. Well, the car started and I drove with her back to her house and woke up poor Dax with loud knocking. Then I took Jabba to school, he was just a tiny fraction of a minute late. I checked back at the house to see if Sukie was home for lunch and she was, and I’m always glad to see Sukie. She’s my whole goddamn world, yo.

Then I scooted back over to the Auto-Zonezz where my mom and Dax were waiting for me (I hope not too long!) and they said to hit up the Wally WOrld for some quality Car Care. Ok, so they were gonna fix it, and I thought it might take HOURS and Dax had to get to work, so while we were at the Wendys we were formulating how it all was going to go down. It was possible to get Dax to work if the car wasn’t done in time if we enlisted theorb77 to our cause, but I’d already spoken to him earlier and he was less than sympathetic to our cause.

Which reminds me, theorb77, I’m reasonably upset with you.

Whew, what a week it’s been. Sukie’s at a new job, I’m at a new location, doing, for a change, local administration instead of remote administration. All this hands-on access, combined with working with such talented people, has inspired me to seek out some additional certifications. Well, that, and finish up school :)

The day I had at work last Wednesday was making me feel less leet than ever, I was just being overwhelmed, and I realized that stress makes me lose, like … 100 IQ points, bringing me down to like … 135 or something. I was seriously stressing it, and then I remembered, I am leet – I taught myself to write computer programs. (You have to learn Computers!) So I’ve been reading a networking primer to refresh myself, and sharpen my skills.

Things are going well, I suppose.

Today I BBQ’d for the first time this season, the burgers came out ok, it took forever for the coals to get hot enough though :( I only ate a single burger, too.

I’ve been getting skinnier by eating smaller portions and avoiding fattier foods, and it’s starting to really show. To this end I will be eating turkey and swiss sandwiches for dinner instead of eating Arby’s or BK or somesuch.

Oh well, happy blogging :)

Ok kids, new layout :) In 2 days it’ll have been one year of blogging for me, and I think that’s pretty cool :)

So Jabba and I went on a quest for M&M Minis, you’re supposed to be able to put a page from his Nickelodeon Magazine in it and make a red or a blue lightsaber :) We went to Toys R Us, 7-11 (Jabba has a 7-11 joke for y’all – it’s not super funny, but it’s cute that he thought of it), and Albertson’s.

Nobody has them, but Jabba realized that M&M minis are in the regular check-out lanes, we did self-check-out, so we didn’t get any but we’ll go back sometime :)

I’m having a bitch of a time writing a physics simulation, I’ve tried so many times and failled. I know my math pretty well, but it’s tough … super tough.

Hey, I’m an amazing drinker!

Bacardi 151
Congratulations! You’re 139 proof, with specific scores in beer (80) , wine (50), and liquor (130).
All right. No more messing around. Your knowledge of alcohol is so high
that you have drinking and getting plastered down to a science. Sure,
you could get wasted drinking beer, but who needs all those trips to
the bathroom? You head straight for the bar and pick up that which is
most efficient.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
You scored higher than 75% on proof
You scored higher than 90% on beer index
You scored higher than 86% on wine index
You scored higher than 99% on liquor index

will you bite the hand that feeds you?
will you stay down on your knees?

Wow, you’d almost swear Trent Reznor grew up around here!

Ok kids, I’ve just downloaded my first song from Apple’s iTunes Music Store. After a weighty decision making process I decided on Amon Tobin’s Saboteur, which is an absolutely amazing peice of music. Amon Tobin did the soundtrack to the upcoming Splinter Cell 3.

In my estimation, things are going well. The new week is rolling in :)

Two things happened this morning – I found out that I did better than I thought in my classes last semester, and Sukie did even worse than she thought. I’m sorry Sukie :(

I think Friday night’s Lost expo was awesome, I hope that Annie Mouse Lee had a good time. I think it was good, though it was like the 4th or 5th time I’ve watched the Pilot. We may want to arrange another screening this week, since there won’t be any new episodes for a while :(

Well, good luck, I hope we all have a good week!

Hey look kids you need to change your tune
That avenue you traveling unraveling soon
You’ll be battling doom but does it matter to you
Worried bout who was laughing at you
Your appearance is more important that whats really real

I spared you from the full lyrics, but I think this blurb from a song called ‘The World’s Gone Mad’, by an obscure group called, ‘The Handsome Boy Modelling School’. I think I’m on a quest to find obscure music, listening to the radio up on iTunes. Hey, it’s good stuff half the time.

I guess that I’ve learned to find good stuff everywhere I look. I found a guy named Akon through iTunes radio, and he was singing a ballad about losing his girl, something that every good R&B artist needs to do at least once to be any good. It’s like how every painter has to do a landscape just to show everybody what’s up.

Another song I’ve been digging that actually is mainstream is Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone”, it’s just good. It’s funny how she’s the end result of a TV show that most recording artists seemed to scoff at, yet she’s more talented than just about anybody out there, she’s even better than the other people to come out of American Idol, in my oppinion. In mainstream music, your revenue is directly proportional to your marketting budget though – and I don’t think she gets the strong pimping that Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera.

Man, if the title for last week’s episode was ‘Tsunami’, this week’s episode is gonna be called, ‘Worse Could Happen’.

I can feel the clouds parting though, folks. It’s Thursday. Tomorrow night we’ll convene at Annie Mouse Lee’s house and watch some Lost episodes, I hope you’ll forgive me if we watch the Pilot episodes, I would like Annie Mouse Lee to have a good shot at enjoying the show.

I can’t beleive I’m so fanatical about a TV show. I guess this is like how theorb77 feels about Angel, or Antigone about 24 (but I like 24 quite a bit, it’s just an investment to watch a TV show like that.) But damn, I love Lost. I’m all up in there.

In a word: TSUNAMI.

Scooting in to the final weeks of school was rough, it seemed like things were moving too fast and out of control, and I just feel shitty. Sukie said it was like a tsunami of junk coming at us.

As soon as I’d submitted my mediocre final exam for my last business class, I thought it was over. Then I looked at theorb77’s blog this am – and I never read blogs at home!

I’m sorry if I seemed disconnected from the tragedy, theorb77 – I guess I was pretty numb to bad news. Even Sukie leaving her job feels like bad news to me, though she’ll be making more money. It’s the change that scares me.

I always try to look up but I just feel down :(

I find that making plans helps me through the sullen drab of life – so here’s a plan: on Thursday or Friday we’ll BBQ at my house, watch some high quality Lost episodes, and discuss over ice cream! How’s that for relaxing? Sounds pretty damn good to me.

theorb77, hang in there bro, don’t let ‘em phase you.

Well, I’m whittlin’ through my last bit of homework today, then I’ll be A-O-K for a while. I just have to test out of some dumb classes and I’ll have my Associates, muahahahaha.

Sukie’s good news has renewed my beleif that I should keep going to school. She has this thing where she gets really mad if I mention that she is making more money than me, but it’s true that she is and now we all know it.

I got paid today, it wasn’t that much though, since I get paid for half a month and February is a short, short month.

Lucas got all green cards in school, which is shorthand for saying he got new Legos. He had wanted some twenty dollar sets and I said that my limit was ten, and if he wanted more we’d have to go home without any legos and just count what we had not spent as money saved for new Legos. There was some cool stuff that caught my eye, like a mini-walking Wolverine, or things like Resident Evil X, and Resident Evil: Outbreak, of which Resident Evil X was only ten bucks. Sadly, I just walked away since I can’t bring myself to spend money.

That said, I didn’t seem to have any problems spending what money I do have. I should have bought a computer when I had money to, but now I don’t have money to buy a computer.

I did get my iBook back, thanks Apple. I’m frustrated that you made an inferior product, but glad that you paid to have it fixed, even though the warranty is up. I love OS X though, and might even be persuaded to get a Mac Mini, I know I’m looking strongly at an iBook G4. I don’t know what it is about Macintosh, but they’ve got my attention.

Sukie, congratulations on your new job :)
